Pauline's wedding - July 2019
The wedding of Pierre’s niece took place on July 13th in Risoul in the Hautes-Alpes department in southeastern France. On our way there from Île de Ré, we stop for one night in Camargue, in Arles, city which thrived in Roman times. The two-tiered Roman amphitheater is probably the city most prominent attraction. It is a very lively city with a lot of festivals and attraction all summer.
Risoul is a charming village with its popular ski resort. Christine, Pierre’s sister, and her husband, François have planned a beautiful reception in the Vauban fortress of Mont-Dauphin. In 2008, the place forte of Mont-Dauphin, was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as part of the "Fortifications of Vauban" group.
The whole family got together to celebrate…..
The following morning we drive to Oppède Le Vieux where Isabel W. & Martin E. invited us in their summer home for few days.
We visit Gordes,
and take beautiful long hikes in the wild around Oppède.
