Ars - June/July 2019

Paul & Danny are our first visitors of the season. We are so happy to have them discover our little paradise. Much different than Austin, TX. but somewhat closer to Cap Cod, MA. where Paul and Danny learned how to enjoy oysters. Their skills were immediately tested…

Few days later, Agathe arrives from Bali and after a quick stop in Paris to see Mamie jumps on a train to La Rochelle. We cannot wait to pick her up at the train station.

Perfect opportunity on our way from Ars to La Rochelle to visit our Miami neighbors, Michèle et Jean-Pierre A., in their summer home in La Faute-sur-Mer, a beach resort just in front of Île de Ré (Yes, we are neighbors in France as well).

Agathe never travels light, a group of her friends from the States and the UK are joining her on the island. Lots of fun ahead…

Which leads of course to more oyster degustations in the Salt Marshes (Les Marais) at sun down: The apéro on steroids!

Early July, The kids are on their way from the States… Charlotte & Isabelle love the Admiral Club at the Miami International Airport !

First stop in Paris to visit Mamie.

They arrive in Ars - The whole family is together: A real treat!

The cousins are joining the party, we are going full swing…

Île de Ré wouldn’t be complete without a boat, we became co-owners of a small sail boat, a Jeannot Sun 2000, the perfect family boat to sail around the island. Pierre and Philippe C. adopt the appropriate Co-Captains uniform.

And Ars-en-Ré wouldn’t be the same for the girls without Les Manèges:

Let’s not forget La Boulangerie with its croissants and baguettes….

Trousse Chemise, like in the old days, remains the favorite daily destination for some great beach time.

Le roi n’est pas son cousin…. (quite proud Miss Charlotte)!

Time for the grand parents (Bella and Nonno) to leave on a road trip to South of France to attend Pauline’s wedding, visit friends in Provence and leave the house to the kids for some family time by themselves.
