Checked-in at Der Teufelhof Basel Hotel, a very nice hotel recommended by Margot T. located right in the center of town. We really enjoyed this hotel: a very cool and comfortable base for all our expeditions.
We dropped our suitcases and ran to The Beyeler Foundation.
Where we admired the CALDER&FISCHLI/WEISS exhibit with unique works from Alexander Calder and Peter Fischli & David Weiss.

The Beyeler Foundation has also an impressive permanent collection including master pieces from artists such as Picasso, Cézanne, Van Gogh, and Louise Bourgeois.
Isabelle is recharching and getting ready for our next stop.
A walking tour of Basel: the Cathedral, City Hall, the exhibit center,
markets and beautifully decorated houses. Lots of interesting architecture.
Crossing the Rhein with the "old but highly sustainable" Ferry powered by the strong river current.
Capping the tour with Happy Hour at Pulpo; (Obeyer Rheinweg 89) on the banks of the Rhein admiring this charming city before a delicious casual dinner at La Bodega Zum Strauss: (Barfüsserplatz 16) also recommended by margot!
We had enough time the next day upon our return from Vitra to visit the Kunstmuseum.
Amazing collection of Picasso, Derain, Munch, Giacometti, Klee, Matisse and many more. What a treat!
