Santa Fe, NM. November 3, 2016

There's no denying that Santa Fe has a timeless, earthy soul. Founded around 1610, Santa Fe is the second-oldest city and the oldest state capital in the US.

As usual we had a great time in Santa Fe and were particularly happy to enjoy this magical place with our friends from Brussels!

We enjoyed a relaxing evening at The Ten Thousand Waves Spa, massages and a delicious Japanese dinner: Véronique se régale!!!

Next morning a quick stop in the beautiful Tesuque village on our way to the Bandelier National Monument.

Véronique, Michel & Pierre visited the Bandelier National Monument while Isabelle stayed back in good company...

Bandelier National Monument: The Ancestral Pueblo people lived here from approximately 1150 AC to 1550 AC. They built their homes carved in the volcanic cliffs on higher grounds for protection and planted crops in the mesatop fields.

The Bandelier site features a reconstructed Kiva. A Kiva is a closed room used by Puebloans for religious rituals and political meetings.

Taos Pueblo is another UNESCO World Heritage Site. A reservation of 95,000 acres is attached to the pueblo and counts 4,500 inhabitants: a Tiwa speaking Native American tribe of Puebloan People.

The girls couldn't stay away from the nice shops in the Taos Village, they loved these rugs!
