Marfa, TX. November 10, 2016
Marfa is a small desert town in West Texas. It is tough to get to, tougher to explain but once you get there, you get it...
We could never get tired of the magic of Marfa. This is one of or favorite places in Texas. We stayed at The Hotel St Georges. It had just opened in the former city library, a very confortable hotel with spacious rooms but maybe a bit too "Urban Chic" for Marfa.
In addition to the strong appeal of its art scene, the magical surroundings, the wide empty spaces and huge skies, you will find in Marfa fun hotels & good restaurants such as El Cosmico, The Capri at The Thunderbird, Stellina and not to forget the historic hotel & restaurant El paisano!
We visited The Chinati Foundation with its permanent collection exhibiting works of Donald Judd, Dan Flavin, John Chamberlain and many more... ("Foux rire" pour Véronique et Pierre thanks to "La petite cruche")
and the recently opened Robert Irwin installation.
Of course, we didn't forget to stop in Valentine... for some shopping??? Ah Ah. Prada Marfa.
