Austin, TX. May 7, 2018
Having decided to move to Miami at the end of our Nomadic adventures, it was time to visit Austin to move out of our storages, load our stuff onto trucks and say goodbye to all the dear friends we made during our 7 Texan years. It was very sad but we knew we would for sure keep in touch…. We had a fun farewell party at Ann P. & Rocco S.
Ce nest qu’un au revoir!
We also took the opportunity to be in Austin to visit the new installation at The Blanton Museum: Ellsworth Kelly Chapel titled “Austin”. A few articles: Ellsworth Kelly’s temple for Light and In ‘Austin,’ a Monument to Ellsworth Kelly’s Vision.
And of course we went back to Laguna Gloria the sculpture park of The Contemporary Austin where we use to take walks among sculptures from artists as: Tom Sachs, terry All, Tom Friedman, Ursula von Rydingsvard, Ai Weiwei and nature.
Time to leave… at the airport…
So long Texas! We truly loved our years in Texas. Moving from New York to Austin was for us definitely an off-beaten-path experience but we would do it again in a heart beat. We understand now why they say: Once a Texan, always a Texan!
