New York, NY. July 4, 2017
We met Pierre's sister, Laure, on the occasion of The Bridge 2017, a unique event celebrating the 100-year anniversary of the landing of the American soldiers ("Les Sammies") in Saint-Nazaire at the end of the First World War.
Laure was in charge of the Editorial Press for this symbolic bridge between France and the Unites-States resting on a series of festivities including a very innovative Yachting Challenge between the Queen Mary 2 and the latest generation of Multi-Hulls sailing boats.
Laure arrived in NYC onboard of the Queen Mary 2. Few days later the Twins arrived in NY by air to join their Mom and celebrate their 20th birthday in the Big Apple! It was the 4th of July weekend and a lot was going on in New York! City
We first met Laure at The Whitney Museum and walked the High Line.
Jules and Gaspard arrived in the middle of the night after an unintended tour of Brooklyn and Queens! They experienced the City-that-never-sleeps with a very late supper at a local upper east side diner.
We enjoyed walking around Central Park together, discovering the new outdoor art: The 45 foot Jeff Koons inflatable ballerina at Rockefeller Center, the Bjorn Okholm Skaarup Hippo (also) Ballerina in front of the Metropolitan Opera and the fantastic installation: The theater of disappearance by Adrían Villar Rojas, on the rooftop of The Metropolitan Museum. They loved New York!
But the highlight for the Twins was a special Birthday lunch at Shake Shack. Les veinards!
While Laure was working on her reporting, we went to Connecticut to visit our dear friends Debbie & Joe V. & their family, Béatrice V. & Marina & Serge K and celebrate the 4th of July with our old New-England friends.
